Condition: Fine. Third printing of this revision. Signed by Anita O'Day to 'Bill, Nice to see you, love xxx'. Signed at 'Court Show in Burbank, 6-24-2000 (written in pencil at the top of the page). Anita O'Day had turned 80 the previous October and was still doing gigs. Inscribed on the first leaf in her older hand No Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling; The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, Appears unread; no spine crease. 8vo, 9 inches tall, 376 pages with an updated discography compiled by Robert A. Sixsmith and Alan Eichler. The renowned jazz singer Anita O'Day lived through both "high times and hard times," a phrase that perfectly captures the essence of her autobiography. During the mid-1940s, O'Day gained fame as a vocalist with the Stan Kenton and Gene Krupa orchestras, and she released a series of acclaimed albums in the mid-50s. Despite her struggle with drug addiction, which hindered her path to super-stardom, she left an indelible mark on jazz with her remarkable improvisational range and masterful interpretation of lyrics.
