Declaración conjunta del grupo surrealistas en agosto de 1935 en reacción a lo sucedido en el "Congrès international des écrivains pour la défense de la culture", organizado por el Partido Comunista Francés a finales de junio del mismo año. Los Surrealistas se sumaron al congreso con la intención de sumar fuerzas contra la ascensión de fascismo en Europa, sin embargo lo que realmente sucedió fue la ruptura definitiva con el Partido Comunista Francés, con en que arrastraba unas difíciles desde la salida de Louis Aragon del movimiento surrealista en 1932.
