Andersen was born in Odense on April 2, 1805. From his native Denmark his fairy tales wandered out over the whole world and won him a place among the greated masters of imaginative writing. This is a new translation by Keigwin, well-known English translator of Danish literature straight from the Danish text under the supervision of Andersen Museum Director Svend Larsen. Illustrated with the original drawings by Vilhelm Pedersen who was Andersen's own choice from 1844 till his death in 1859 for 200 drawings. Owner name, DJ edge wear.

The white lettering on the spines of two of volumes shows slight wear and the spines have some rubbing as well. Although designed as a matched set, volumes 2 and 4 which show the wear are a slightly different shade of blue and the backs (spines) are rounded while volumes 1 and 3 have more squared backs. ; 24mo 5" - 6" tall.
