Two vintage color and five borderless, black and white reference photographs from the 1975 film. One of ten films made by the French novelist Robbe-Grillet, ostensibly about the target of a kidnapping plot hiding out at a high society brothel, but in reality an exercise in image making, fourth wall breaking, and the exploration of Robbe-Grillet's usual concerns of eroticism, voyeurism, and doppelgangers. One of his most commercially successful films, down mostly to the presence of "Emmanuelle" star Sylvia Kristel, far more prevalent in the marketing material (she appears in two of the photographs here) than in the actual film. 7 x 5 inches. Fine.
