Book
Paperback. Condition: Fair. Clean, tight; yellow highlighting throughout text; spine straight and uncreased; minimal wear to covers; Wishart traces his family lineage back 250 years to Hudson's Bay Company fur traders and their Native and Mixed-Blood wives. Behind the names on the genealogical chart, he discovered intriguing life stories of hardship and heroism, discrimination and reconciliation. This book combines exciting storying with thorough historical detective work. Wishart situates his family story within a series of historic events that influenced the shape of Western Canada, and in a thoughtful and personal way, he reflects on an unspoken racial divide that endures in Canada to this day.
