Beautiful autobiographical bibliography of the works of Adrian Wilson (1923-1988), an American book designer. His wife, Joyce Lancaster Wilson, edited this book. Adrian was originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, but he and Joyce later settled in San Francisco, California. Adrian's works are listed in chronological order by year. Some of the entries come with decorative illustrations. Others come with tipped-in facsimiles. Many of the entries document Adrian's thought and work processes behind that particular work. Laid in are two related ephemera, a printed postcard invitation addressed to Sacramento bookseller Richard Press (1932-2020) for the publication of this book and an unused fine-press holiday card with a tipped-in black-and-white illustration and printed signatures of "Adrian, Joyce & Melissa." Back colophon: "This book has been designed and printed by Adrian Wilson assisted by Margery Cantor, Zahid Sardar, and Jim Wehlage at the Press in Tuscany Alley, San Francisco, California. The paper was specially handmade by Barcham Green & Company, Maidstone, Kent, England. The text types were composed by Mackenzie Harris Corporation in monotype Centaur designed by Bruce Rogers and Arrighi by Frederick Warde. The display lines were handset in the Palatino Italic of Hermann Zapf, who handlettered the author's name for the title page. The line cuts were made by Bauer Engraving Company. The photographers were laser-scanned and printed in duo-blacks by Mastercraft Press, Inc. The binding was executed by The Schuberth Bookbindery. The edition is limited to three hundred and twenty-five copies, of which this is number 261.".
