All with headpieces decorated initials & very simple tailpieces. At least 10 full page b/w illustrations and a few in text. The stiff paper covers likewly added a later date. GOOD book. 1st ed. Tall quarto, cloth-backed boards, 68pp., poems in German with b/w illustrations by Thoma. Boards slightly warped and darkenend, spine ends frayed, internals nice. Scarce. Henry Thode, 1857-1920, was an art historian who did several books on the work of Hans Thoma. Hans Thoma (1839-1924) was one of Germany's most highly regarded artists in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.

Leg. editoriale in mezza tela con titolo e disegni calligrafici impressi in rosso e nero al piatto anteriore. Perfetto esemplare. (8081) Prima edizione, non datata (la data 1892 si desume dalle firme delle illustrazioni), di questo album dedicato ai ragazzi, in cui componimenti poetici in vario metro si accompagnano ad ariose illustrazioni che si ispirano a soggetti di vita rurale, giochi infantili, temi faunistici e mitologici. Le illustrazioni si devono a Hans Thoma (1839-1924), il celebre pittore, disegnatore ed illustratore tedesco di scuola naturalistica, allievo di Courbet che lo influenzò in modo determinante.
