Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Linen cloth with gilt lettering and maroon text blocks on the front cover and on the spine. The linen cloth has some light soiling. No specific spots just a dusty look in parts. The orange end papers are free from owner's names and book plates. On the front paste down, there are two areas where the paper is bubbled, likely due to manufacturers defect where the glue was no uniformly applied. The text pages are clean. There is a damp stain on the fore edge, but this stain did not seep through to the text pages themselves. The corners are sharp. The cloth edges are intact, but is light soiled on the on the bottom of the board edges. The DJ has a number of chips, creases and tears. While it covers most of the book, the DJ is has seen its day. This is not an Ex-Library book. Stated First Printing.

Mala Rubinstein (1906-1999) was niece to Helena, and Vice President of the Helena Rubinstein Cosmetics firm (also Advisory Director for Columbia University, and many other internationally acclaimed organizations). She worked side by side with her noted Aunt Helena from the very beginnings in the 1920's on through to 1970, when the firm passed to L'Oreal's ownership. She was recognized in 1977 for her devoted work with the blind. Mala was a noted author in her own right. Helena and Mala set the beauty standards for the world throughout the 20th century.
