Mit einer gedruckten Widmung an die "Prinzessin von Preußen". - Der Schriftsteller Ernst Benjamin Salomo Raupach (1784-1852) studierte Theologie, Ästhetik, Mathematik, römische Altertümer und Geschichte in Halle, übersiedelte 1805 als Privaterzieher und Kanzelredner nach St. Petersburg und lehrte hier 1816-22 als Prof. der Geschichte und deutschen Literatur. Nach Reisen durch Italien und Deutschland ließ er sich 1824 als Schriftsteller in Berlin nieder, wo bereits 1820 sein Drama Die Fürsten Chawansky (um 1810) Anklang gefunden hatte. Raupach schrieb bis 1842 über hundert Stücke für das Berliner Theater.
