Per il nome degli editori, Dalla Volpe, cfr. G. Canterzani, Catalogo ragionato dei libri a stampa pubblicati in Bologna dai tipografi Lelio e Petronio dalla Volpe. In 8vo (mm 205x133); pp. XXXI, [1], 328, con un bel ritratto dell'A. inciso in rame da Giuseppe Foschi su disegno di Jacopo Alessandro Calvi a piena pagina nel testo. Segnatura: a-b8 A-T8 V12. Marca calcografica al frontespizio (volpe con sguardo rivolto verso il sole nascente). Lievi aloni marginali ad alcune carte, lievi fioriture diffuse, ma nel complesso buona copia intonsa. Cartonato rigido coevo con titolo manoscritto su tassello al dorso. Dorso rivestito con carta marmorizzata, piatti rivistiti con carta azzurra. Piccole mancanze al dorso e ai piatti. Ex libris al risguardo anteriore: "Giuseppe Cuoghi". L'A. (Bologna, 1697-1752) fu medico e chirurgo. In questa edizione postuma, Benedetto Casalini, autore della vita del Pozzi, cui era legato da sincera amicizia, raccoglie tutte le composizioni poetiche di quest'ultimo. (De Tipaldo, VIII, 68-70. Giuseppe d'Ippolito Pozzi fu non solo poeta (autore del 4° canto del poema collettivo Bertoldo, Bertoldino e Cacasenno, 1736), ma anche professore di anatomia in Bologna e medico di Papa Benedetto XIV. Ottimo esemplare, fresco e marginoso (piccola mancanza al margine esterno di uno degli ultimi fogli). Le "Rime Piacevoli", stampate sempre da Lelio della Volpe, apparvero con falsa indicazione tipografica a causa del contenuto scabroso, come si intuisce dall'Avviso ai Lettori delle "Poesie": "Alcune per altro di quelle, non si sarebbero per riguardo stampate, non so da chi raccolte, ed altrove per altro torchio impresse col titolo di Rime Piacevoli". Precede l'opera La vita del Pozzi (1697-1752) composta da Benedetto Casalini de' Minimi. I componimenti poetici sono divisi per genere (Sonetti, Canzonette, Sermoni.). Ottimo esemplare.
