First edition hard back binding in publisher's original Chieftain goatskins, dyed the exact shade of RAF wool-barathea wartime uniform fabric. The front cover is a bronze bas-relief of an anonymous crew-member cast in bronze, recessed and bonded into the cover, this was created by the famous sculptor, James Butler RA, the marker ribbon of blue silk printed with the motto of RAF Bomber Command, 22 carat gold edging. 4to. 13¼'' x 10''. The print run is strictly limited to 401 copies, No. 1 being presented to HM The Queen, this copy being number 173.
