Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf. A history of the Legion of Honour created by Napoleon in 1802 to honor Frenchmen who had either acted bravely on the battlefield or served civil France in some exemplary way. Its inductees received the Legion's small white-enamelled cross as a public show fo gratitude. This book is illustrated with numerous photographs of the various medals. A good copy with some tanning to the spine and some light wear to the spine tips and cover corners. The text is very good with some light foxing and wear. A few pages at the beginning and end of the book have some staining in the lower right corner. The front hinge is slightly loose but still secure. Inscribed by Author(s).
