On the dedication page, next to the photo of Violet Bjerke (listed as the person who conceived and researched the book) is a brief note with her signature. Eielson was an early and very adventursome pilot in Alaska and even has a peak named for him next to Mt. McKinley.Commercial flights, airmail, the Antarctic, A true aerial pioneer.
