Book First Edition Signed
Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jackets. First Edition. Vol. 1 - 369 pp.; Vol. 2 - 398 pp. This 2 volume set is rather complete in detailing the family records of Stephen Foster and his family. Both volumes are illustrated from contemporary paintings, photographs and prints, and the complete index is at the end of volume 2. These were published for the Foster Hall collection. Vol. 1 is genuinely inscribed and signed by the author and by a member of the Foster Hall staff. The set is priced very competively because of water damage (vitually all on Vol. 1). There is some "puckering" of the cloth on the top third of the rear board, and "waviness" to most of the top page edges. There is NO STAINING on the pages or the rear board, NO MUSTINESS, NO STUCK--TOGETHER pages. The book is perfectly readable, and the front board and spine were untouched. It thus looks fine sitting on the bookshelf. Vol. 2 has an almost imperceptible "puckering" to the pages that would literally not be noticed if not paired with Vol 1. Photos upon request. Inscribed by Author(s).
