The story of a boy who lives in the backwoods of Ontario, Canada and who supports his family by cutting wood, guiding hunters, etc. Syd Tanner faces down a challenge over land-ownership with courage, hard work, and good thinking. Sounds like a mid 20th century Horatio Alger type story to me.
