The plates have not been tanned from the tissue guards; interior, generally is clean, and without creased pages. Valentine Clerk of Common Council General M. T. McMahon, was born in Canada in 1838, he served throughout the Civil War, and was in all the major battles of the Army of the Potomac; he was also an attorney, and later U.S. Minister to Paraguay.
