Vielmehr soll versucht werden, einen ganz bestimmten Aspekt des Filmes herauszuarbeiten und zu hinterleuchten. Dieser Aspekt soll das Verhältnis zwischen den Stabschefs respektive dem Militär im allgemeinen und der politischen Führung der USA, sprich im besonderen John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy und Kenneth O`Donnell, sein. Die Fragen, denen die Arbeit versucht ist nachzugehen, sind 'Wie werden die Beziehungen und Befehlsstrukturen zwischen den beiden Parteiungen dargestellt ' und 'Wie nah kommt das Gezeigte der historischen Wirklichkeit überhaupt ' Dabei gilt ständig zu beachten, was die neuere Forschung als erwiesen ansieht beziehungsweise was der Dramaturgie, also der filmischen Darstellung geschuldet ist. Hierfür sollen sowohl wissenschaftliche Monographien zur Kubakrise als auch Biographien zu einzelnen Personen verwandt werden. Doch vor allem auch die Erfahrungen der beiden direkt involvierten Zeitgenossen Theodere Sorensen und Robert Kennedy wurden für eine genauere Beleuchtung zu Rate gezogen. Im weiteren soll also gezeigt werden, wie die Parteiungen dargestellt wurden, ob, welche und vor allem warum es Spannungen gegeben hat. Ziel soll es schlussendlich sein, eine Bewertung hinsichtlich der Realitätsnähe des Films in Bezug auf den zentralen Aspekt in Betracht ziehen und ermöglichen zu können. Dass die Literatur zu diesem Thema eher dünn gesät ist und man auf recht allgemeine Darstellungen zur Kubakrise zurückgreifen muss, ist bei der Betrachtung stets zu beachten. 20 pp. Deutsch.
