Seconde edition, complete in 6 volumes (bound in 3). 8vo (27cm by 21cm), [iii], lxxvi, iv (preface), 48pp; iv, viii, 63pp; [iii], xvi, 327pp; [iii], viii, 143pp; viii, 16pp, 328pp; 343pp, 55pp, 8pp, 20pp, 36pp, 30pp. There is a separate continuous pagination running through all six volumes, amounting to 1478pp. 62 plates (some with hand-colouring) in volume 1, 24 maps (mostly folding) in volume 3, 6 plates in volume 4, large folding map in volume 6. Half dark green cruched morocco, gilt titling to the spines. Bindings rubbed and scuffed, tears to a couple of the folding maps, occasional scattered neat annotations (mainly affecting the preliminary pages of volumes 4, 5 and 6), lacks the title page to volume 6. Overall, this set is in good condition, with the text in Fench. The collected voyages of the man who founded Quebec City. Numerous plates + foldout plates + colour plates. Half leather with marbled sidepapers. Upper board of both volumes detatched, lower board of both loose but attached. Heavily rubbed/bumped edges. exposed board. Bumped corners. Leather quite dry and flaking around edges, esp spine which is creased, cracked, and rubbed. Lightly yellowing but largely bright and clean interior with excellent clear type and many plates. First signature of vol 2 nearly loose. Large loose folding map laid in rear, reinforced with old tape. P/--.
