Soft cover. Condition: Good. Softcover catalog of Copper Conductors from the General Cable Corporation. Bound in tan paper wrappers with two metal clips. 53 pages of text & tables, plus a lengthy unpaginated section of black & white graphs. Good condition. Ex-library. With pencil and ink notes written on the front cover, as well as three rubber stamps: Reference, Catalogue Library, and Jul 1 1947. The title page has a call number written in pencil and a Smithsonian Libraries stamp. Library of Congress Duplicate Exchange, Aug 19 1942, Apr 14 1936, and CIA A 202207 are all stamped on the copyright page. Apr 26 1936 is stamped inside the back cover. The binding is strong and sturdy, with no loose or missing pages. The back cover shows some discoloration from staining and there are several tears on the spine piece. Wrappers have light edgewear from handling, as well, and there is toning throughout from age.

Hardcover. Condition: Very good. First Edition. A survey of the propaganda and motivational posters designed and published by the General Cable Corporation during the Second World War. The posters are documented with 33 high quality full-page reproductions printed with spot colors (rather than four-color CMYK separations). On the page facing each poster is a brief bibliographical details about print runs, distribution, and the reason for the poster. This is one of the best books of WWII posters from the period. Many of the posters depicted had print runs in the hundreds of copies and are rarely seen. The remainder of the book offers examples of General Cable's military products produced during the war, illustrated with sepia halftone photographs. About 120 pages; color frontispiece. 9 by 12 inches. Each copy is numbered on a tipped in limitation sticker at the back. The highest number seen by your cataloguer is ca. 2500. First edition (first printing). Some wear to board edges, as usual, thus very good in illustrated paper-covered boards with a cloth spine.
