Tokyo [1938], Sanseido. Brown cloth, 169p., very good, dj. This is a descriptive work covering both the common man as well as celebrities. Each chapter is a biography of actual people, most of whom come from the "unswanky" neighborhoods. It also covers the Eta or untouchable class & its environs. It is an interesting sociological and pre-WWII study by a Japanese journalist & long time resident of New York until 1926. He has an uncommom understanding of English.useful !.
