Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good Minus. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author on the mustard-colored first front end paper ('Sept. 19, 1969, Some nostalgia of the twenties for Alice Pidgeon, with the affection of the author, Elisabeth Hamilton Friermood -- just see what you started, Alice!). There is only one other Signed copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. I have priced my copy at a $185.00 discount to this other signed copy. You didn't misread that. Even unsigned copies are rare, in fact I found only one for sale on the Internet. I priced my book below even that one. As you can see from the photographs, the blue covers of the book itself are very clean and the yellow and orange lettering on the spine is very bright. There is only a very light amount of wear, a bump/crease at the bottom corner of the rear cover, a slight darkening of the blue at two small areas on the bottom edges, and a little bit of the usual crinkling at the spine ends. This book is very solidly bound, absolutely no issues in that regard. The pages in the book are exceptionally clean. There aren't any markings and there aren't any attachments. It is NOT ex-library. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The pages are also in very good shape. There aren't any dogeared corners. There is only one crease: near the middle edge of 175-176 the page got folded in or over leaving a vertical crease from top to bottom. The crease is to the right of (and does not touch) the print. I have flattened it out. The page is the appropriate width. I've rated the dust jacket only Good Minus. You can see it in the photographs provided. It suffers from a few slight losses, a scuff above the 'E' in 'Peppers' on the front cover, scuffing at the spine ends, and a number of creases. It also has small pieces of tape off the top and bottom edges of both flaps and the front and back covers. There is no tape on the interior of the jacket. The use of the tape is a little puzzling as it doesn't seem to correspond to any tears. On the positive side, the jacket is pretty clean and it is NOT price-clipped. I've had it in a protective cover for as long as I've owned it. Inscribed by Author(s).
