Glossy black wraps with title lettering in red over black at top right front cover, above subtitle in red, with illustration of standing young Prussian scholar, reading, two dogs at his feet. Mild wear at upper rear cover spine corner and lower rear cover spine corner, with very thin piece (1/2" x 1/32") rubbed away at bottom edge near bottom corner; 2" weak crease at rear cover bottom left corner (long flat, strong); small area, very superficial paper indent, about 1"above lower edge, that echoes from rear to front of book for a little more than one-half of book: this all describes MUCH worse than it is, but there you have it.
