Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Original blue cloth cover is quite solid with some cracking to the spine and a small area of loss (see scan). Spine seems to have been repaired. A small area has been rubbed through the surface between the spine and the front cover. Remains of an old library sticker. Some discolouration to the cover, especially at the back. Corners are bumped and there is edgewear to the top and bottom of the spine with a tiny tear at the bottom. Endpapers and fly leaves have been replaced. There is an old library stamp opposite the Preface page (Hereford Permanent Library). Edges are browned and there is some foxing scattered throughout the book. All illustrations are present. A nice copy for its age in this very scarce first edition.
