L. Sheppard. Includes fascinating articles for children of all ages: "Adventure on an Iceberg," "Besieged by a Rhinoceros," or "How a Comet Struck the Earth," and so much more, as seen from the index. **Editor Mary Mapes Dodge (1831-1905) is perhaps better known as the author of The Story of Hans Brinker." The Saint Nicholas compilations from Scribner's were begun in 1873. CONDITION: Very Good Minus. Exterior shows moderate edge wear. Top inch of front hinge cracked, but holding. Rear hinge is fine. The interior is lightly age-toned but generally clean and a delight to children to read, with short stories, non-fiction articles, games, crafts and biographies to improve young minds.
