Hardcover, gray cloth, tiny tear to cloth at head of spine, otherwise crisp, clean, tight, corners sharp, no tears, bumps or creases, no markings. Jacket is soiled, worn, edgewear with chips and tears, including one inch pieces missing at head of spine and one back corner, and a slightly smaller chip on front panel. Learning to ride, mounting and dismounting, the seat, intractable horses, the riding ring, gaits, jumping, riding in open country, et al.

1st US edition stated. 99pp of text followed by 17pp of b&w photos. VG+/Fair, hardcover with dust jacket. Book has a few spots to page edges and a bookplate, otherwise clean and tight, no markings. DJ is soiled, spotted, rubbed, has a one inch tear at head of spine, and a 3 inch tear to front panel, both tape mended inside. Large scraped patch on rear panel DJ now in jacket protector. The rider's seat, gaits, the bit and reins, psychology of equitation, et al.
