First Edition
1st Edition. Hardbound small 8vo (about 7.75 inches tall) 22 pages. Description: Privately printed by A Carlisle & Company in San Francisco. Illustrated in black and white with eight historic photographs, and a copy of a painting of Bidwell Bar during the gold rush days. The author chose to call this a novel, however it is primarily bits of early Butte County history. The author's husband started a movement to save the old suspension bridge at Bidwell Bar, and the author used this bridge as a vehicle to narrate bits of local history. One of the historic photos shows the monument erected in 1926 to the Old Suspension Bridge and the Mother Orange Tree. (The orange tree was planted the same year the toll-bridge was opened, and was one of the first orange trees in California to bear fruit -- people came from miles to procure seeds for planting. BINDING/CONDITION: burgundy cloth with gilt; Fine condition. ISBN: B0006ASIWG.
