Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Visible wear marks to boards.

Book remains in fair- condition with heavy bug erosion- notably over spine where title has been mostly obscured, curling backstrip at crown, and with superficial erosion down bottom half of backstrip. Cloth is also eaten around board edges, rounding corners and leaving small chips. Apparent moisture exposure has wrinkled cover cloth and stained text block- interior remains unmarred. Few penciled notes through text, gift inscriptions and bookstore stamps to prelims. Interior still legible and of use. Hinges secure. Sold as-is.
