Sunned on spine; occasional fox spot. Very good condition. Loosely inserted article about the artist included. Frans Martin Claerhout (1919-2006) was a Belgian Catholic priest and self-taught expressionist artist, who lived in South Africa from 1946. His works included monotypes and linocuts, murals and sculptures, and his paintings were "characterised by warm colours, impasto and elongated human forms." - Grania Ogilvie.
