Hardcover. Condition: Good. Ex-library. Binding firm, spine ends rubbed, damp stains to end both end pages. Interior tanned but clean and unmarked. Captain Congar, though otherwise a fine, upstanding, and apparently extremely religious man, nevertheless seems not to have made it into the Pacific at any time in his long sailing career. We include this here because the author is well-known for his works on Hawaii, whaling, and the island world of the Pacific, and surely no Reverend Cheever-enthusiast can be without the Congar title. *** 266pp. *** Published 1851.
