Green cloth heavily embossed with what appears to be a floral design (water lilies?) with orange letters on the front cover and the spine. Wear to extremities with a couple of corners just barely rubbed through, top and bottom of spine just beginning to fray, spine slightly darkened, covers very lightly soiled, previous owner's rubber stamp on front pastedown, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Demetra Vaka (1877-1946), was a Greek-born author who emigrated to the USA in 1894 and married the writer and journalist Kenneth Brown. This book is an autobiography that includes information about the relations between Greece and Turkey. Demetra VAka also wrote THE GRASP OF THE SULTAN, THE DUKE'S PRICE (with her husband), THE HEART OF GERMAN INTRIGUE, among others.
