8vo; pp. xii, 179; rebound in green cloth, title lettered in faded gilt on spine, browning to first and last few pages, spine cocked, minor wear to edges of cloth, previous owner's notes in pencil to endpapers, otherwise a very good copy. A good account of life on the goldfields, covering commerce, crimes, riots at Ballarat, Kiandra, Hokitika etc. Written by George Ogilby Preshaw who died November 1890 aged 51 years.
