HORN DRESSING COMBS. Warranted English Manufacture. "Horn Combs are the Most Durable and Do Not Injure the Hair." Original packaging label design, hand-drawn and hand-coloured on paper by Ben Johnson & Company of York. The small Bull and Unicorn logos are lithographs laid down within the painted decoration and lettering. Single sided. Measures a little over 6.5" x 3" (16.75cm x 7.5cm). 'Ben Johnson, Printers and Stationers' stamp to rear, dated November 11th, 1893. Surface residue to rear centre and extremities, where it has been fixed down at some point. Straight vertical crease to the left of the 'Bull' litho, and some relatively light rippling. Light foxing to blank rear, with occasional light marking here and there. Remains a nice original example nonetheless.
