Jan Jaromir Aleksiun (born February 2 , 1940 in Nowa Wilejka ) - Polish graphic artist, painter, specializing in posters and drawings; academic teacher associated with the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław and its second rector in the years 1980 1982. Officially, he was born on February 2, 1940 in Nowa Wilejka near Vilnius , but according to his older sister it took place on the night of December 31, 1939 to January 1, 1940 [1] . After graduating from primary and secondary schools , in the years 1959 1966 he studied at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass in the Department of Graphics at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław . He obtained his diploma in the Graphics Studio of prof. Stanisław Dawski . After graduating, he worked for three years at Zakłady Elektroniczne "Elwro" as a graphic designer. In 1969, he was employed at his alma mater as a part-time assistant , and from 1970 as a full-time assistant at the Department of Graphics, Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. In 1973 he conducted the first-degree examination, and in 1979 he completed the habilitation examination (second degree). In 1981, he became the head of the Department of Graphics. In the years 1981 1982 he was the rector of the Wrocław art school. In 1990 he obtained the title of professor . In the years 1999 2005 he was the dean of the Faculty of Graphics . He practices drawing, painting, posters and graphics. He was the supervisor of three doctoral theses. He took part in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He is the winner of awards in the field of poster, graphics and drawing, including the award of the Minister of Culture and Art in 1994. His wife is the painter Mira Żelechower-Aleksiun , with whom he has a daughter, Natalia Aleksiun . Seller Inventory # 23486
