Original miniature printer's proof calendar design for actor and impresario, Augustus Harris (1852-1896) at the Drury Lane Theatre, London. The artist / designer is not named, but the item was part of a collection comprising a variety of original designs and proofs by two Yorkshire based lithographers, Ben Johnson & Co. of York, and George McCorquodale & Company of Leeds. Please note that, unlike the majority in the collection, this example is printed rather than hand-painted. Thin card composition, presented in an unfolded state, it measures approx. 3.5" x 3" (92mm x 73mm). The rear panel and verso are left blank. A little very faint foxing to blank panel and rear, with one or two small marks here and there, though quite innocuous. Blank panel also showing a relatively light vertical line mark. Small surface residue to rear corners where it has been fixed down at some point. Remains a nice original survivor.
