Etched amorial bookplate, on heavy stock, of noted ornithologist Frederic Gallatin Jr. Measures approximately 4.75 x 6.25 inches, pencil signed by Hollyer in lower right corner. May have been tipped into book as there appears to be some abrasion to upper rear corners, otherwise a decent copy. Hollyer was an Englishman and was trained as an engraver by the Finden brothers. He later relocated to New York City where he was employed by various book publishers. Uncommon. Seller Inventory # 004783
