This engraved plate originates from: 'Nymegen, de oude hoofdstad der Batavieren, in dichtmaat beschreven, en met aantekeningen, de oudheden van de stad, en die van het quartier van Nymegen betreffende, opgeheldert Door H.K. Arkstee. Met printafbeeldingen.', 1st ed. published by Petrus Mortier, Amsterdam, 1733. Later editions in 1738 and 1788. This is a description of the history, city and region of Nijmegen, The Netherlands.Artists and Engravers: Author: Hans Kasper Arkstee (Dutch, c. 1700-1776). From 1734-1780 he was associated with his half-brotrher H. Merkus as bookdealers in Amsterdam and Leipzig.Condition: Good. General age related toning and light staining. Original fold from binding. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
