'GEEN GRAFSCHRIFT OP DEES ZERK!-NEEN DICHTERS (….) 'NEERLANDS FREDERIK''This print shows a portrait and tomb of William George Frederik of Orange Nassau (1774-1799) . Youngest son of prince William V en Wilhelmina from Prussia. His brother was Willem I. On the 12th of September 1793 in the battle of Wervik, he was wounded by a bullet. He never recovered and was reburied in Delft. We see a skull above his portrait. The battle below. A weeping man and woman holding a cloth with a poem made by BWJ.Made by Anonymous after own design.Engraving on handlaid (verge) paper. Watermark: Yes.Sheet size: 20.5 x 26 cm (8.07 x 10.24 inch). He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).
