The image size is ca. 14.6 x 11.6 inch.Plate: 'Le Poete Roquebrune rompt la Ceinture de sa Culotte en voulant monter a cheval a la place de Ragotin.' (The poet Roquebrune breaks the belt of his shorts, while wanting to climb at a horse at the Ragotin square.) Original Master Print, published ca. 1732-1740. This plate is part of a series: 'Cycle du Roman comique au chateau de Sans-Souci.' , based on Paul Scarron: 'Le Roman comique.' (1651 et 1657). Our definition of a Master Print is a seperately published print or series of prints, not being an illustrative print to a text. These can both be prints made by old masters (artists) or prints made by others (artists, engravers, etchers) after old masters.Artists and Engravers: This plate engraved by Edme Jeaurat (French 1688-1738) after Jean-Baptiste Francois Pater (French 1695-1736). Paul Scarron (1610-1660) was a French poet, dramatist, and novelist.Condition: Good. General age related toning. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
