This rare attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Verhandelingen over de natuurlijke geschiedenis der Nederlandsche overzeesche bezittingen .', by C.J. Temminck, published in Leiden by S. en J. Luchtmans en C.C. van der Hoek, 1839-1844. Scarse! This work covers the scientific findings of the explorations to Java, Indonesia. Ref: Bastin-Brommer p. 14: one of the finest of the 19th century illustrated books on Indonesia. Landwehr, Coloured Plates, 197 and 454. Cat. KITLV p. 2 & 218.
