(12.8 x 16.14 inch).PLAYING MUSIC-LUTE-BORDELLO-FIDDLE | DPO-A2-003-15BACKGROUND INFORMATIONPublished in Britain, dated 1774.Biography engraver: William Baillie (1723-1810), British printmaker. Retired from the army in 1761; commissioner of stamps from 1773-1795. Amateur printmaker, who became a quasi-professional. Sold all his plates to Boydell (who reprinted them in a collected edition in 1792 and 1803), but continued to etch. Main business was as a picture dealer, and he was the main agent for the Earl of Bute. Died Paddington 22 December 1810.Biography artist: Jan Mense Molenaar (1610-1668), Dutch painter and etcher, active in Haarlem. Condition: good, given age. Narrow margins. Bottom left corner repaired. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Seller Inventory # PCO-29901
