(8.11 x 10.16 inch).GOWN-DRESS-FASHION-POCHOIR-LADIES-BINOCLE | RBOS-A8-08BACKGROUND INFORMATIONThis attractive print was published ca 1900.Biography artist: A prolific illustrator who was known for his simplified esthetic, Gaston Marechaux (1872 - circa 1936) often created compositions depicting children's lives. His style, in the tradition of Louis-Maurice Boutet de Monvel's children's illustration, was closest to his contemporary Francisque Poulbot (1879 - 1946). Marechaux illustrated books, periodicals, all manner of ephemera (announcements, tin boxes, menus.) as well as posters and postcards. Condition: good, given age. No margin. Paper glued on board. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Seller Inventory # RB-1157

He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).
