In this spirited print, Biddle captures the mood of the carnival using traditional lithographic techniques combined with cross-hatching, more typical of etching. Titled in graphite lower left: "Carnival in Rio". Signed in the plate, as well as, in graphite lower right: "George Biddle 1947". Image area: 10" x 11" on a sheet of cream wove paper measuring 12" x 16". Item #PR00388 George Biddle (1885-1973), an American muralist and printmaker, is most remembered for his social realism murals.
