Oblong 24mo. Stapled wrappers and interior pages composed of blueprint paper. Very good with toning, stains and creasing to the wraps. A booklet consisting of humorous cartoons lampooning the Phoenix Bridge Company's engineering depart created for its annual summer picnic. The cartoons include both standalone illustrations and comic strips identifying various employees by name, many referencing incidents and in-jokes now lost in time. The company was founded in 1790 as the French Creek Nail Works but changed its name to the Phoenix Iron Company in 1855 producing rails for trains and cannons for the Union Army. By the early 1900s, the company turned its attention to bridge manufacturing, producing more than 4200 bridges throughout the U.S. and Canada. Despite the cryptic nature of its content, a nevertheless fascinating amateur zine produced in an equally interesting format. Likely unique. Seller Inventory # 411218
