Octavo. Vol I: 477, [1 (blank)], [1 (ads)]; II: 500 pp. Second edition, corrected. In contemporary marbled calf with morocco title labels. Leather at the front joint of both volumes are separated, but the boards, while tender, remain attached; light shelfwear including some very minor chipping to the spine ends; a handsome set; preliminary blank leaf in Volume I is loose but laid in; contemporary note on the front free endpaper of this same volume; contemporary owner name plate of "T. Jones, Penkerrig" on the front pastedown of Volume II and partially removed from Volume I; owner name that may be Jones's on the title page of each volume. It is likely this that is form the library of Welsh painter, Thomas Jones who at this time of publication resided at his family estate of Pencerrig.
