This book is in beautifully fine condition - - with the Frank Schoonover illustration pasted to the front cover - - with the colors vivid and un-rubbed - - and with no real wear or damage showing to the dark blue covers - - with soft yellow lettering and design on the spine. The interior text is strictly fine with no handling wear or damage showing, the binding solid, and the illustrations and full-color prints vivid and clean. The dust wrapper shows a bit of wear at the spine and fold extremities and with two small closed tears - - and with all four corners clipped as possibly issued - - but beyond that the dust wrapper is in near fine condition with the half-panel black-and-white photograph on the rear panel showing mother and three children all reading before the fireplace with the ad extolling the importance of building reading and a library for children. 317 pages.
