Two collections of sermons by the Bishop of Lincoln, Robert Sanderson (1587-1663). A good, clean and solid copy. A few further title pages to various parts. Minor light marks or blemishes else a rather nice copy, presented in a particularly attractive period binding. This copy uses binders waste for its rear pastedown, namely the title page of the 1687 edition of Confucius Sinarum Philosophus, the first European translation of Confucious, blank verso up. Bound in a rather attractive contemporary panelled calf binding. Raised bands to the spine. With a red morocco gilt-lettered label to the spine.
