Undated (probable 1st edition) hardcover in tan paper-covered boards with a brown illustration of a horse being ridden. Moderate shelf-wear, spine has a slight forward lean, tips are bumped but still fairly sharp. Foxing present on head of page block. 191pp text is age-tanned but still clean-smelling, clear of markings, highlighting, soil. Foxing contained to upper extremities and title page. Red illustrated horse endpapers. Professionally reproduced jacket with age toning and minor chips, displays well in new mylar. It's about Ben and Dixie Darby and Tack Ranch. It's about King, the wild black stallion- mysteriously vanished. It's about the wide open range and mean-hearted horse thieves. It's about the thrills and spills and all the fun of the rodeo.
