The biography of Bill Cochran, written by his daughter. _____ The parts of his life chronicled here are limited to the 1880s and '90s of south central Kansas, northern Oklahoma and the No Man's Land of NW Oklahoma. _____ He was in turn a farmer in Kansas, cowboy and deputy sheriff in both Oklahoma and later Union County, New Mexico. _____ _____ IIllustrated with archival photos. _____ These include two of the botched hanging of Tom "Black Jack" Ketchum. _____ Cochran was present and is identified in both photos. _____ His report on the event is quite detailed. _____ _____ Carlton Press was a "vanity" publishing enterprise. _____ This meant that the author had to pay for the entire book production. _____ This then meant that print runs were small and distribution spotty. _____ The jacket is edge worn.
