FIRST US EDITION. Large 8vo. 8.75 x 7 inches. ix + [iii] + 138 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt. Spine and board edges sunned and some foxing of flyleaves and title page; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by colour frontispiece, by 32 black and white photographic plates and by 3 folding plans at end. The Wanderer was built as a four-masted fully-rigged barque, the Wanderer, by W. H. Potter and Co. of Liverpool in 1891. A history in prose and verse by John Masefield (1878-1967), Poet Laureate, 1930-67. She was sunk in collision with a German steamer in 1907.
