A handsome panoramic prospect of the northeast French city of Cambrai, from "Civitates Orbis Terrarum", in the original color. With strongly graphic element of the moat and wall surrounding the city, coming to arrow headed points, and with 'La Citadelle' at the east, within its own graphicly exciting arrow headed enclosure. White country lanes cross green meadows towards the city. Central cartouche with architectural elements, two coats of arms, and a legend of important buildings at the lower left. Reference: Fauser, A. 2262. Image size 17 1/2 x 13 1/4". In very good condition. Published by George Braun (1541-1622) and Frans Hogenberg (1535-1590). Seller Inventory # 15871
